With no props and an unfinished show, the Roarin’ Blue Band took the field at the Galena Park ISD Marching Contest last Saturday and secured second place.

15 6A bands competed at the contest, putting the band ahead of 13 other schools, boosting morale for many of the members who were previously unsure of their standing in the 6A circuit.

The band lost significant time due to rain last month, resulting in their inability to put all of the drill on the field. To accommodate this setback, the band stood still and played to the end of the show once they reached the end of their learned drill.

This Saturday, the band will compete at the Katy ISD Marching Festival to prepare for their upcoming region performance, which is the first contest in the UIL Marching circuit.
