For the first time in school history, five choir students advanced to the All-State Choir at the TMEA Area auditions this past Saturday, January 11. They will perform in San Antonio in February.
The following students advance to the final round of the all-state process:
The all-state process began in September, and although all Chorale choir members audition, very few make it to the end.
“I’m proud that the kids’ hard work and effort paid off,” choir director Jed Ragsdale said. “I preach it all the time and to see it put into practice is very rewarding.”
Before this year, only three students had passed the Area auditions, including senior Harli Daniel in 2019. She is excited to share the stage with a record number of four other choir members.
“The TMEA Convention is a lot of fun because you get to meet a lot of like-minded people,” Daniel said. “It’s going to be even more exciting this year because I made the Mixed choir instead of Treble and I get to bring people with me.”
