Teacher and social studies department chair Daniel Craft will transfer to Tomball High School some time later this year as an Assistant Principal. The tentative date is February 3, but could be subject to change.

“The district had four Assistant Principal positions open in December, which is very rare,” Craft said.

Though he will miss TMHS, Craft looks forward to having a larger impact on a high school campus.

“The district is in a bit of a bind,” Craft said. “I hope to give back and have a positive impact campus-wide as opposed to just in the classroom.”

Social studies teacher Laura Higley worked with Craft on the same team for two years, and values the role he took as department chair.

“He had great respect for personal planning times, and was enthusiastic about all social studies content,” Higley said.

Higley remains appreciative for her senior role in coaching the current events UIL team.

“It was very kind of him to let me take over since I know he is passionate about that team,” Higley said.
