After a very close 4th quarter, the Wildcats fell to the Brenham Cubs at last Friday’s homecoming football game. Wildcats started off the game with a lead as Connor Baumann scored a 29 yard touchdown, but the field goal was not made. The first quarter ended with a score of 6-0.
During the second quarter, Brenham took the lead by scoring a 40 yard pick 6 and making the field goal. Wildcats responded with a touchdown, which the Cubs then caught up to with a 33 yard field goal. Wildcats led at halftime with a score of 14-10.
During the third quarter, Brenham took the lead with a touchdown, which the Wildcats answered to with a 35 yard touchdown reception to reclaim the lead at 21-17. At the end of the third quarter, Brenham once again took the lead with a score of 24-21.
The Cubs scored another touchdown at the beginning of the fourth quarter, extending their lead to 31-21. Wildcats then made a touchdown with a 10 yard touchdown pass by Dru Baker, bringing the score to 28-31. The Wildcats ended the hard fought game with this score.
