Softball began their season Tuesday with a loss against Cy Woods 9-3. Even though the team did not win, head coach Glynn Tolleson still has high hopes for the team and the year.
“Our girls never quit during the game and always stayed positive,” Tolleson said. “I am really proud of their effort Tuesday in spite of the score.”
The next game is Thursday and by then, Tolleson is hoping to fix many of last game’s weaknesses.
“We need to make better adjustments hitting,” Tolleson said. “We know that Cy Woods hit very well and we know that we can make a lot of adjustments there.”
Now that the season began, the team is playing six games over the next three days in College Station against many different teams.
“We are going to play great games in College Station,” Tolleson said. “We are all really excited about it.”
The team has practiced since November to prepare for this season. Senior Kylie Treider is excited and ready for it.
“We’ve practiced everyday and we’ve all worked really closely together as a team,” Treider said. “We all push each other really hard to get better.”
