On February 28th, the 2024 Senior Powder Puff Game lit up the football field. Whether you couldn’t get your eyes off the cheerleaders, wouldn’t stop tapping your foot to the Silver Studs’ whistle, found yourself singing along with the bands tunes, or screaming for the players, it was something that will not be forgotten by many people.
“It was really cold, but with all the energy we were bringing, all I could feel was the warm rush of fun,” cheerleader Spencer Small said. Spencer competes in Track and Field and thought that he could use that energy to both fly high and pep a crowd up.
“It was an experience that was really fun, hanging out with my friends who were also Silver Stars really made it,” Silver Star Jonathan Pulger said. Jonathan, along with being a Silver Star, was crowned with the title of Powder Puff Queen.
“It was fun to really learn the other side of my teammates and while it was for fun, we really wanted to win and show off our skills,” Football Player Caitlyn Frazier said. Caitlyn was on team Silver, and was a key person in the run into the end zone to tie the game.
The Game ended tied at six, with the intention to go to overtime, but with school the next day, freezing cold temperatures, and exhaustion for everybody who was participating, the decision was made to keep it tied and just pronounce everyone the winner. While there was no real winner, the experience that everyone had makes up for it, and the memories will last a lifetime.
